How many times did you wake up to see terrible makeup stains on your sheets? How many times did you pull out your eyelashes while trying to remove waterproof makeup? How many times did you have a terrible allergic reaction after using different products for makeup removal?
Been there, done that! But what may be even bigger problem is that most products for makeup removal are too aggressive and contain a lot of chemicals which are not good for your skin.
Honey
Honey is beneficial for your skin in many different ways. It is a natural product with antibacterial activity which fights acne and protects your skin from infections. Honey also removes dead cells and moisturizes your skin. It can be used as a very efficient makeup remover, too. Just take one teaspoon of raw honey and apply it all over your face. Make sure to massage it well into your skin. After 5 to 10 minutes, remove it by using a warm cloth. Honey will remove your makeup and leave your face clean and smooth.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera contains antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and minerals which are good for your skin and exactly what it needs. What is good about Aloe Vera is that it can be used for different types of skin; it prevents drying and moisturizes your skin without making it oily. To remove makeup and impurities from your face, you should definitely try this recipe. Mix the same amount of Aloe Vera gel and honey, depending on how much makeup remover you want to get. For every 200mg of mixture, add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. When you get a nice, put the mixture in an appropriate container and keep it in the fridge. To remove your makeup, take a little bit of paste, massage it into your skin and leave it for a couple of minutes. Rinse it off with cool water and that’s it!
Oil
This is the thing we use most commonly for makeup removal, if we want to avoid buying different cleansing products. You may have thought that oil isn’t really good for your skin, but that’s just not true. Oil helps your skin get rid of excess oil by dissolving it deep in your pores and it moisturizes your skin. That’s why it is good for both dry and oily skin.
Coconut oil, avocado oil, castor oil and even sunflower oil are all good for removing your makeup, but the best thing would be to choose one according to your skin type. Olive oil and coconut oil are good for dry skin, while castor oil, hazelnut oil, sunflower oil are good for combined and oily skin. To remove your makeup, take a little bit of oil, massage it well into your skin and then cover your face with a towel soaked in hot water. This will steam your face and unclog your pores. Don’t forget to wring out the towel so you don’t burn your skin with hot water. After a couple of minutes, take the towel and use its clean side to gently wipe your face. Your skin will be makeup-free and it will absorb the remaining oil.
