Teeth naturally yellow as we age. Many of the things we eat and drink can contribute to loss of pearly white smile. Drinking lots of coffee, red wine and smoking can cause loosing the whiteness of the teeth. Mineral water, tea and berries contain chromomeric agents that stain your teeth. Even some types of medications that you take as an adult can cause change of the teeth color. Everyone wants a perfect white smile, but some of us can not afford the expensive visits to dentist or chemicals that might whiten the teeth.
But the solution can be found right at your home! Here are some natural remedies you can use to whiten your teeth in no time:
Baking soda
Baking soda helps with discolored teeth. Its abrasive particles polish the surface, while a chemical reaction between baking soda and water can remove eventual stains. However, be careful with the procedure. Excessive use can damage tooth enamel, so it is not recommended to use it more than once a week.
Procedure: Just dip your toothbrush in baking soda and gently rub. Rinse your mouth with water and / or brush your teeth with standard toothpaste (preferably the one without fluoride).
Coconut Oil
Some people retain teeth whiteness by applying coconut oil to their teeth after washing teeth with regular toothpaste. Another thing which is very common for teeth whitening is so called „oil pulling“, which refers to the process of swishing the oil in your oral cavity.
Procedure: Simply put a spoonful of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around for 10 minutes. Or add a few drops on your toothbrush and simply brush your teeth with it. Besides being able to whiten your teeth, coconut oil also has antimicrobial properties.
Apple vinegar
Apple vinegar is particularly useful for removing stains from coffee or nicotine. When used regularly apple cider vinegar can make your teeth look like those of Hollywood stars. However, you should be careful because apple cider vinegar can remove the enamel of your teeth. After washing your teeth with apple vinegar, you should re-brush them with regular toothpaste, preferably without fluorine.
Activated charcoal
There are no teeth whitening products that can whiten your teeth as good as the activated charcoal.
To use activated charcoal as a treatment for your teeth, put a little non-fluoride toothpaste on your toothbrush and then dip it in activated charcoal.
Procedure: Start by brushing your teeth and try to use a minimum amount of water. Your mouth will be black because of charcoal, but your teeth will get a good cleaning and they will look much whiter.
