Car batteries are among those parts of the car on which most drivers usually forget until the problem occurs. The fact is that dust and dirt that can create almost invisible electrical conductor, providing the loss of energy. Frequent short drives during which the battery fails to restore enough, may be fatal. Simple things like leaving the radio turned on or a lights lid on can drain your car battery and your car will not start. We bring you 10 simple steps on how to fix this problem and start the engine.
- Park the car whose car battery you will “drain” next to your car. Make sure that they do not have any contact rather than jumper cables, in order to avoid eventual short circuit or sparks. If you suspect there is a problem with the battery, do not constantly make the gas pressure and emptied by the end. If you completely empty the battery, the harder it will be to turn on the car
- Remove the caps from both the discharged and charged car batterys.
- Turn off the car and all other electrical devices in your car in order to prevent unnecessary battery drain. Lift the parking brake and put the gear lever in neutral position, or park (P) position in automatic vehicles.
- Connect one end of the cable (red) to the positive (+) terminal of the discharged battery, and the other end of the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal from which charging.
- Connect one end of the extension cable (black) with the negative (-) terminal of the discharged battery, and the other end of the cable to the engine block. Do not forget: Always connect the positive terminal to the positive and negative to negative.
- Try to start the car with the discharged battery. If you cannot start it immediately, turn on the engine of car with full car battery, so that this battery does not drain. Again try to start the car with the discharged battery.
- When you finally start the engine of your car, add a little gas and recharge an empty battery for a few minutes. Remove the negative (-) cable from the engine block or body, and is half of the booster battery. Extension cords are removed in reverse order.
- Then remove the positive (+) cable from the empty battery, and then with the booster battery.
- Place the caps of the battery back in the place.
- When the car engine is finally running, let it continuously work at least twenty minutes.
