Due to excessive sun exposure hair becomes brittle, sensitive, dull and dry. But with proper care and prevention, you can save it from damage that can be caused by wind, sea salt and sun. We bring you few advices on how to protect your hair during the summer.
Nature is the best source of high-quality and effective ingredients for hair care. Concoctions of herbs are perfect for all hair types. Rosemary, sage and black tea are excellent for darker hair, calendula and chamomile for lighter hair and saffron and henna for red hair.
All you need is two tablespoons of dry mixture mixed with a pot of boiling water. Leave to stand for 20 minutes, strain and add 6 drops of olive or sunflower oil.
During the hot days do not leave home without a cap or a hat that protects your head. Before swimming and sun exposure, get a lotion or spray to protect hair, and apply it on your hair. Such products consist of UVB and UVA filters and have a slightly acidic pH.
The power of rinsing
Each time after exiting the pool or sea, be sure to rinse your hair. Chlorine and salt are the greatest enemies of the hair, and should therefore be thoroughly rinsed off hair. Wash your scalp shampoo to clean the scalp from chlorine and sea salt. After shampooing, apply conditioner to gently rub and massage your scalp for several minutes. Leave the conditioner on your hair a few minutes to act, then rinse with lukewarm water.
If your hair is severely damaged, the conditioner alone will not do you any good, but the hair masks certainly will. All masks with a high concentration of keratin, the protein extract of wheat or hydrolyzed are excellent for hair care. If you do not have close at hand a mask, you can always make Masks For Healthy Hair.
Ideal solution would be to comb your hair with your fingers or a wide-toothed brush from time to time. In this way you massage your scalp and stimulate hair growth. But even more effective would be if you treat your scalp with a real fingertip massage which will strengthen the hair roots.
